Registration Phases

.QA Sunrise Period 

Phase 1 : Trademark Sunrise Period

  • Sunrise period : 1 month ( starting Monday 18th July 2011 )
  • During this phase, eligible trademark holders are granted priority to register Domain Names in the .QA ccTLD
  • Trademark sunrise Applications during this phase will only be accepted from: the registered owner of an eligible trademark, a licensee of an eligible trademark duly authorised by the relevant registered owner or an assignee of an eligible trademark duly authorised by the relevant registered owner
  • During this phase domain registration applications will be carried out through Qatar Domain Registry's Accredited Registrars

Phase 2 : General Availability

  • In this phase; any entity who satisfies all the requirements specified in Qatar Domain Registry's policies can register their domains.
  • Domain registration will be open to everyone on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Domain registration is made through Qatar Domain Registry's Accredited Registrars
  • Expected : Early September 2011


.Qatar ( Arabic Domain - .قطر ) Sunrise Period 

Phase 1 : Government Registration Period

  • Period : 1 month ( starting Monday 18th July 2011 )
  • Government entities eligible for registration during this period include ministries, governmental authorities, and public organizations linked to such Government Entities of the State of Qatar
  • Domain registration is made through Qatar Domain Registry's as per the bellow process :
    • Fill the domain name registration application form
    • Applicants must provide a letter duly signed from the relevant Government entity authorising the registration of the Domain Name
    • The documents should be submitted to ictQATAR offices, ground floor, Al Naser tower B. ( view map )

Phase 2 : Trademark Sunrise Period

  • Sunrise period : 2 month ( starting Wednesday 17th August 2011 )
  • During this phase, eligible trademark holders are granted priority to register Domain Names in the قطر. ccTLD
  • Trademark sunrise Applications during this phase will only be accepted from: the registered owner of an eligible trademark, a licensee of an eligible trademark duly authorised by the relevant registered owner or an assignee of an eligible trademark duly authorised by the relevant registered owner
  • During this phase domain registration applications will be carried out through Qatar Domain Registry's Accredited Registrars.
